Keep the structure. Rethink the shade.
A pergola can define an outdoor room without providing enough shade at the hours you use it. Slide-on-wire canopy panels offer another way to manage overhead sun. The support structure, panel direction and fabric choice all shape the result.
Structure and support
An existing pergola needs assessment for the proposed attachments and loads. Canopy fabric does not replace the need for a suitable supporting structure.
Fabric and layout
Discuss coverage, color and the direction panels will travel. Adjacent sections and access for care should be considered as part of the design.
Before you choose
Questions about pergola canopy systems.
Will a fabric canopy make the pergola waterproof?
Do not assume an overhead shade canopy is a watertight roof. Weather performance depends on the selected fabric and design; discuss rain protection as a separate requirement.
Can it fit an existing pergola?
Possibly. The dimensions, condition, attachment points and suitability of the structure need review before a system is selected.
How should I care for the panels?
Follow the selected manufacturer's cleaning, removal and weather guidance. Discuss access and storage needs before installation so maintenance is practical.
