This project photograph shows a stone patio beside a swimming pool, with seating and doors opening from the home. The awning sits beneath an upper balcony and extends over the patio between the house and the pool.
Blue-and-white striped fabric echoes the pool’s blue tile and the home’s roof. The extended awning provides overhead coverage while leaving the patio open toward the water. This is a different approach from a vertical exterior screen, which covers the side of an opening.
The next step is to check the mounting surface, available height, desired projection and the path of the sun. We also discuss operation, access to power when needed and the selected product’s weather limits. An awning is a shade solution; it is not a promise of hurricane protection or all-weather shelter.
